About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java technologies, Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, SQL Server, and modern software development practices. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on coding experience, and the ability to work independently in an Agile environment. 5+ years of enterprise software development experience is required. The role involves designing, coding, unit testing, bug fixing, code reviews, Agile delivery, and mentoring junior engineers while following strong software engineering and assurance practices. Experience in banking or financial services is a plus. Shift timing: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze requirements, design solutions, develop features, and perform unit testing.
Develop scalable and maintainable enterprise applications using Java and related technologies.
Troubleshoot issues, debug defects, and implement fixes.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Provide development effort estimates and manage assigned work independently.
Use Agile methodologies and engineering tools (such as JIRA) to track progress and deliverables.
Stay updated with modern technologies and recommend improvements where applicable.
Mentor junior engineers when required and support knowledge sharing within the team.
The role is primarily an individual contributor position with occasional mentoring responsibilities.
Required Skills
Strong experience with Java, J2EE, JSP, Spring, Hibernate, EclipseLink, JPA, JUnit/Mockito.
Experience with development tools such as NetBeans or Eclipse.
Hands-on experience with build tools, preferably Maven.
Strong understanding of unit testing frameworks and software quality practices.
Experience with SQL Server 2008+ and relational database concepts.
Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or SVN.
Knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, WebSockets, and related web communication technologies.
Strong object-oriented design and coding standards knowledge.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Strong analytical ability, self-driven work ethic, and the ability to multitask and prioritize work are important for success in this role.
Preferred Skills
Experience with NoSQL databases.
Exposure to DevOps tools and practices.
Knowledge of Agile and Lean development methodologies.
Experience in the Banking & Financial Services domain is an added advantage.
Experience working with vendors and coordinating delivery is also beneficial.
